TV as your workspace background

Any channel playing in the TV pane can be pushed full-screen behind your workspace — above the wallpaper, below the panes — turning live news, sports, or scenery into an ambient backdrop while you work.

Turning it on and off

1. Start a channel in the TV pane.
2. Click the monitor-play button in the pane’s control row — tooltip: Play full-screen behind the app.
3. Click it again (Stop full-screen background) to stand it down. This works even in a freshly opened TV pane with no channel loaded, so a running background can always be stopped.

Good to know

• While the background is on, it owns the audio — you can minimize (or keep using) the TV pane and the sound carries on uninterrupted. Volume and mute stay shared between the pane and the background.
• Switching channels in the TV pane updates the background to follow.
• Picking a new wallpaper theme in the Workspace Style palette automatically stops the TV background — the theme you just chose would otherwise be invisible behind the video.
